Simplifying Digital Loan Applications for Small-Town Borrowers

PorchPass is a fintech platform helping credit unions and manufactured home lenders digitize the loan application process — reducing paperwork, phone calls, and manual errors. I led the redesign of the Digital Loan App (DLA), improving usability for non-technical borrowers while meeting compliance and business requirements from loan officers.

This work involved streamlining multi-step application flows, clarifying financial terminology, and reducing drop-off through better guidance and UI affordances. The redesign helped applicants complete tasks with more confidence and helped lenders manage more applications digitally.

I collaborated closely with engineers, compliance stakeholders, and customer support to align the borrower experience with backend systems and legal needs — balancing simplicity for users with the complexity of mortgage lending.
